Real Wedding – Orange County

As Summer is soon coming to an end, we wanted to share this wedding in particular with you. The wedding of Kirstin and Steve took place in Orange County, California. Kirsten wore a blush colored Anne Barge gown in silk taffeta with pin tuck details and 3/4 length sleeves. The beautiful bride in her cotton candy pink gown is pure beauty! (The bride found her wedding gown at Alta Moda Bridal in Salt Lake City, Utah).

The wedding reception has a magical mood amidst an amusement park setting. The joy and whimsy of their wedding day reminds us of Summer festivals enjoyed as a child. What better way to ensure your wedding guests feel giddy than with memories everyone can relish from their childhood. We know you will feel the same when you view the wonderful images from Burnt Exposure Photography.

Happy Wedding Wednesday! xo

Real Wedding – Texas Hill Country

Our featured wedding of the week comes from Texas Hill Country. The couple, Cori and John, met on a flight to Austin. Wanting to highlight their Texas connection and roots, Cori and John were married amongst rolling green hills and a lake on the bride’s family ranch outside of Austin.

From the pizza buffet with take home boxes for guests, to the fireworks display to kick off the dancing at the reception, the mood that the bride and groom wanted and achieved was one of fun! And family played a big part in the preparations to the wedding. The bride’s mother planned and incorporated family heirlooms into the event. And her father made benches from scratch for seating at the ceremony.

The bride wore Sonata from the Blue Willow Bride collection by Anne Barge. The Sonata gown is a trumpet silhouette of Alencon lace with delicate spaghetti straps. Cori looked absolutely gorgeous! The groom, John, wore a Ben Sherman suit in a charcoal grey with a bright yellow tie and pocket square. The wedding’s color palette of yellow with hints of grey were carried throughout the wedding on the ribbon chair decor to the dessert table display to the billy button boutonniere for the Groom.

We welcome you to enjoy this beautiful wedding. And we wish a heartfelt congratulations to Cori and John! xo

Real Wedding – Mile High Station

It is our favorite day of the week: Wedding Wednesday!

Our real wedding for this week’s feature comes to us from Colorado. Alix and Vince were married in Denver at the Mile High Station. Their February nuptials radiated joy as they said their vows encircled by loved ones. The fun spirits of the couple are plain to see from both the professional photographs and the spontaneous photo booth sessions at the reception.

The bride looked gorgeous and was all smiles in her Anne Barge “Sophie” gown. Designed in a striped silk shantung, the wedding gown has a tailored cummerbund waistline, full skirt, and spaghetti straps. Alix wore her hair in loose waves and was supported by her lovely bridesmaids in little black dresses. So chic. And the flower girls…beyond adorable!

Viewing the photographs of Alix and Vince as they celebrate their special day brought huge grins to our faces. We know it will do the same for you! xo

Real Wedding – Sea Island, Georgia

We love Wedding Wednesdays! This week we are excited to share the real wedding of Megan and Justin. This sweet Southern destination wedding took place at Sea Island in Georgia. The ceremony was at St. William Catholic Church with the reception following at The Cloister Beach Club. Every element of the wedding was elegantly appointed with lots of candlelight, a touch of sparkle, and a plethora of lush peonies (the bride’s favorite flower).

The bride looked radiant in her Anne Barge Couture gown. The wedding dress is style “Chatham” ~ a silk taffeta ball gown with bow back details. The unique gown surprised guests at the reception as the overskirt was removed to reveal a sassy strapless mini dress of French guipure lace. The bride accessorized with glittery Kate Spade shoes for each ensemble.

We know you will enjoy the images of Megan and Justin’s wedding day celebration! xo

Real Wedding – Boho Beach Bride

Happy Wedding Wednesday! This week’s featured Anne Barge bride wanted to plan a warm weather destination for an October wedding date. With family from the Midwest, Misty and Jason envisioned a sunny location for everyone to enjoy for the weekend. A wedding in Florida was their decision. The couple wanted a relaxed beach vibe for their wedding and the Palm Island Resort was a perfect location.

The bride wore style 582 by Anne Barge. The strapless gown is an A-line silhouette of light silk organza overlaid with a layer of illusion tulle embellished with French lace appliqués. A beautifully designed wedding gown which perfectly fit the bride’s desire for a Boho chic ensemble. The groom wore a crisp white button down skirt with relaxed blue slacks. Both bride and groom were relaxed and ready to say “I Do” with sand between their toes. Their brothers served as the wedding party. And the couple’s vows were said under a bamboo altar with a curtain of alstroemeria flowers. Rather than a guest book, wedding guests signed leaves which were then hung on a ‘guest tree’ display. At the end of the reception, guests released glowing wish lanterns with hopes for the couple’s future together.

Real Wedding – Preppy in Rhode Island

This week’s featured real wedding celebrates the union of Megan and Greg. Their June wedding was set in Rhode Island on the beach. The couple chose a palette of bright colors with a touch of navy and white for a hint at the nautical setting. We cannot help but smile when viewing the cheerful tones and preppy details of this Summer wedding!

The wedding party included the couple’s dog, Shamrock, who wore a seersucker bow tie. Adorable! The Groom and groomsmen donned classic khaki pants and navy blazers with vivid colored ties and matching boat shoes. Bridesmaids were in short pastel hued dresses with coordinating colored Summer sandals. But all eyes were on the bride…as they should be! Megan looked beautiful in a silk taffeta strapless gown from Anne Barge with pin-tuck details and a pocketed A-line skirt. She carried a bouquet in a myriad of tones from blush pink to fuchsia. We are sure that you will also find yourself smiling when viewing their charmingly colorful and preppy wedding! (Images by Person + Killian Photography). Enjoy! xo

Real Wedding – Biltmore Estate

It is Wedding Wednesday! This week, we feature a real wedding at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. The bride and groom, Marsha & Chris, wanted touches of Southern Charm for their wedding. This historic manor home is America’s largest and was built by George Vanderbilt in the late 1800s. The stately French renaissance style chateau is set amid 8000 acres of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The grand expanse of the Biltmore Estate property set a stunningly classical backdrop for the couple’s special day.

The bride wore style LF216 from Anne Barge. The champagne silk satin gown is a trumpet silhouette with a strapless neckline and button back details. The bride accented the gown with an embroidered self-tie ribbon sash. Pure elegance! The groom wore a custom suit in charcoal grey from Brooks Brothers. The bridal attendants wore long dresses with the bridesmaids in shades of grey and the junior bridesmaids in navy. Wedding guests dined at two long tables and danced well into the night.

We know you will enjoy the refined elegance of this beautiful Southern wedding! xo

First Look!

Today is July 1st and Summertime is well under way! Sunny blue skies, cool ocean breezes, sand between our toes… Are you dreaming of the beach as much as we are? If yes is your answer, you’ll love today’s feature inspiration of the Beach Wedding. We are loving tropical themed ideas to inspire a bride’s sand and sun filled wedding setting. Incorporate these unique touches in your wedding and we know your guests will be wowed!

For guests who have traveled from out of town for your wedding, compile a tote bag to welcome them! Include a beach towel, sun screen, bottle of water, and any other fun items you would find useful to enjoy sunbathing.

Welcome Tote for Guests

Add a starfish or beautiful shells to guest place settings. These seaside treasures are lovely items to keep and always remind your guests of your memorable beachside nuptials.

Short bridesmaid dresses are both beautiful and perfect for the beach. Have your attendants in fabrics such as chiffon or shantung which are cooler fabrics for outdoor settings.

Wedding Favor Idea – Tie your programs to straw fans. The fans are a fun and practical favor for guests to use to keep cool under the sun. They will thank you!

Wedding Favor Idea — Flip flops for guests are a fitting and useful wedding favor. Set them near the ceremony site for guests to slip into as they walk on the sand to witness your vows. Or, have the flip flops out at the reception for dancing into the night!

Flip Flops

Drape a bamboo canopy to shade the beachside ceremony site. (This should also shelter you from the sun and help to alleviate any squinting in photos). To make walking on the sand easier, lay down straw mats for the aisle and altar.

For the bride, style your hair in loose waves with a floral wreath for a bo-ho romantic look.

At your reception, serve tropical themed cocktails: pina coladas, margaritas, mojitos. For a clever non-alcoholic drink, offer guests refreshing coconut water served in coconuts, of course!

Real Wedding – St Simons Island

Weddings on St Simons island in Georgia always have an extra bit of magic to them. And this real Anne Barge bride’s wedding certainly has charmed us!

Amy and Joe were married in January. The bride grew up vacationing to St Simons Island and wanted to honor the happy memories with her grandparents by holding the wedding there. The ceremony was held at the Wesley United Methodist Church with the reception following at the Boathouse at Frederica.

The bride wore “Victoire” from the Anne Barge Couture collection. The wedding gown is a trumpet silhouette of French Alencon lace over silk organza. The gown’s bateau neckline is trimmed in scalloped lace and the low sheer back is elegantly finished with button closures. Amy completed her classic look with hairpins made from her grandmother’s and great grandmother’s antique brooches. Something old and borrowed repurposed into something new. Perfection!

Wedding photos of family members decorated the reception

Happy Wedding Wednesday! This week’s featured real Anne Barge bride is Melanie. She and Grant were married in one of our favorite parts of Northern California: Carmel! The ceremony was held at the Carmel Mission with the reception following at the Carmel Valley Ranch.

The bride is gorgeous and all smiles in the “Skye” gown from our Blue Willow Bride collection. The dress was found at Kinsley James Bridal in Walnut Creek, California. The stylists at Kinsley James accessories with a lovely belt from Something Treasured. We think Melanie looks beautiful!

The wedding day was expertly overseen by event planner Giulia Events. Christine Cater Weddings designed the florals and bouquets. As an alternative to wedding cake the couple chose to serve cupcakes from Sprinkles. (Yum!) Please enjoy these wonderful photographs captured by the talented Hazy Lane Studios.
