Real Wedding – Rock & Roll Couple

Mark and Erin were married in June. This couple’s love of Rock & Roll set the theme for their Summer wedding. Custom invitations let guests know that the reception was going to be a celebration reminiscent of a concert tour. Merry Me Events created the flowers for the day and were also the wedding planners overseeing the details… From escort cards in the form of ticket stubs to backstage passes for guests to wear, the imagination that went into this unique wedding is wonderful!

The bride walked down the aisle in Anne Barge’s Waverly wedding gown. Erin found her dress and custom veil at the Wedding Suite at Nordstrom Tyson’s Corner. Jimmy Choo shoes and clutch completed the bride’s beautiful ensemble. The groom donned a Canali suit from Nordstrom Chicago Michigan Avenue.

Mark and Erin said their vows surrounded by friends and family at the Morris Chapel in Niles Michigan. The reception followed at The Brick in South Bend, Indiana.

We know you will enjoy seeing this couple’s special day unfold. The bride described the wedding’s theme as Rock & Roll Industrial Glam. Imagination Photography perfectly captured the joy of the day!

Rock & Roll Invitation Suite

We love weddings which incorporate traditions from various cultures. This week’s featured wedding highlighted the bride’s Chinese heritage . Carmen and Bob were married in Tampa, Florida. For their April wedding, a soft color palette of blush pink to soft rose was chosen. In Chinese culture, the color red symbolizes happiness. Therefore, red was a bold accent color central to many elements in the wedding from the bridesmaids bouquets to the wedding cake.

The bride wore the Aimee gown by Anne Barge. A fit and flare silhouette of draped illusion tulle, the gown’s cross over rucking shows a bride’s figure perfectly. Carmen looked stunning! She accessorized her ensemble with crystal jewelry including a necklace, earrings, and cuff bracelet. Carmen found her Anne Barge wedding gown at Malindy Elene Bridal in Tampa, Florida.

The couple had pre-wedding photographs at the Tampa Museum of Art. The bride and groom performed a Chinese tea ceremony. At traditional Chinese weddings, Tea Ceremony is the equivalent of an exchange of vows at a western wedding ceremony. The wedding ceremony and vows were held at the Westin Hotel in Tampa. Amalie Orrange Photography’s images perfectly illustrate the soft beauty, pure joy, and romantic vision of this wedding. We know you will enjoy the photos to follow! xo

Real Wedding – Moraine Farm

The Estate at Moraine Farm in Massachusetts was the setting for Maria and Jack’s wedding. Their June nuptials took place outside in front of a gazebo on the property’s expansive lawn. The reception celebrations included lawn games and signature cocktails to cool guests under the Summer sun. Dinner and dancing was under a draped white tent with orange and yellow lanterns hanging overhead and giving a soft glow as the night drew near. Maria found her Anne Barge gown at a Trunk Show hosted by Kleinfeld Bridal in NYC. The strapless gown of silk shantung has a full skirt with linear bands decorating the hemline.

Fall Wedding Inspiration!

September is upon us. Sunlight hours begin to shorten, a chill fills the night air, and leaves turn magical hues from golden ochre to warm russet. It is Fall Wedding season! Time to celebrate and inspire brides planning to say “I Do” with wedding dates in late September, October, and November. Here you go ladies, lots of ideas to make your special day shine and pay homage to the wonderful season of Autumn! xo

To start us with a vision for the day, let’s delve into the colors of Fall for your inspiration…

Mountain Sunsets

Tranquil Leaves

Spiced Tones

Wedding dresses are no longer seasonal with brides having the choice to wear strapless gowns in Winter and lace sleeves in Summer. That being said, we wanted to highlight a few gowns from our collections which would be particularly beautiful for Fall weddings…

Mystique / Anne Barge Couture  - The Cameo color option of this illusion tulle A-line gown is perfect for Fall. The cascading beadwork would certainly shimmer under candlelight too!

Mystique - Anne Barge Couture

Devoted / Anne Barge Couture – A soft blush toned satin faced organza and Alencon lace accents make the Devoted a romantic silhouette for Fall. The bateau neckline signals a change of seasons while keeping a subtle sexiness with inset panels and low back neckline.

Devoted - Anne Barge Couture

Garland / Black Label by Anne Barge – Delicate hand-embroidery gives a vintage feel to the Chantilly lace on this soft sheath gown. The sheer cap sleeves and V-neckline have a vintage glamour feel.

Eden / Blue Willow Bride – For the bride wanting modern yet traditional, this gown is perfect. The Alencon lace is offset with a blush lining and the trumpet shape lends a flattering silhouette.

Eden - Blue Willow Bride

Grooms need not feel left out for Fall fashions! From alternate suit colors outside of classic black, opt for charcoal, chocolate, or tweed for the modern man. Boutonnieres for the men’s lapels also have many options with the bounty of Fall flowers and seasonal accents such as nuts and herbs.

Boutonnieres - Fall Wedding

Bride’s have a multitude of choices when it comes to bouquets. Fall flowers in bloom include Dahlia, Chrysanthemum, Statice, and Zinnia to name just a few. Don’t limit yourself to just flowers as sheaths of wheat, dried herbs, and seasonal fruit can also be stunning accents to carry down the aisle.

Bouquet of Herbs

Decor at your wedding and reception can honor the season with the use of gourds such as pumpkins. Paint them for a DIY project that transforms them to your desired color scheme.

Reception table centerpieces look dramatic with gold accents on service pieces and china, especially against the deep jewel tones of cranberry or amethyst.

For a more rustic feel, golden sheaths of wheat displayed with lush satin ribbons add texture and height to a table.

Seasonal fruit such as apples and pears can also be displayed along the wedding aisle, atop the guest book table, or at the dessert table.

A fun DIY project would be to hand-cut escort cards in the shape of falling leaves for guests to find their calligraphed name and seat assignment at the reception. Display the cards on branches amidst moss for a unique nod to the outdoors.

Guests at your Fall wedding reception are now ready for the celebrations to begin! Have your cocktail hour set up with a bar highlighting these signature Autumnal drinks for all adults to enjoy…

Bourbon + Apple Cider + Ginger Ale

Hot Cider + Spiced Rum + Cinnamon Rim Garnish

Vodka + Pumpkin Butter + Sparkling Wine + Pumpkin Spice

Dining for guests can have just as much flair with these suggestions ranging from delicious seasonal flavor bites to comfort food sure to warm the soul.

Pear Slices with Camembert Cheese

Fried Squash Blossoms

Crostini with Honeycrisp Apples, Warm Brie, & Rosemary Honey

Butternut Arancini

Pumpkin Soup with Grilled Cheese Points

The wedding cake design can take some fun details from the season too — Leaves, Gilded Details, and Fruit!

…And to satisfy any sweet tooth, why serve just cake? Set up an entire dessert table.

In the latter part of the reception festivities, give guests fresh and hot donuts dipped in cinnamon sugar. This will surely help to keep their energy up as they dance the night away!

And when this magical night comes to a close, send your loved ones home with a token of thanks. These wedding favors will be enjoyed at home by your guests and bring wonderful memories of the night before.

Real Wedding ~ Lake Tahoe

We love Lake Tahoe –  sunshine, cool breezes, beautiful scenery and the wedding of Rob & Stephanie! Married in July at the West Shore Cafe. Many aspects of planning for the wedding were DIY: invitations, table runners, escort seating cards. All personally overseen by the bride with a thoughtful touch.

The bride wore “Evangeline” by Anne Barge. The soft silhouette of the gown with its strapless rouched neckline, tulle overlay, and all over appliqués of Alencon lace was pure romance. Stephanie looked simply beautiful! To add to the timeless quality of the wedding attire, the flower girls wore the same dress as the bride’s mother had 50 years earlier when she herself was a flower girl.
This couple’s lakeside wedding brings long Summer nights under starry skies to mind. And that was the plan with guests enjoying fireside Smores flavored with coconut, mexican chocolate, and Irish Creme.

Real Wedding – Casa Romanitca

Happy Wedding Wednesday ~ As it is the last Wednesday in August, and Summer is coming to a close, we felt it only fitting to feature an Anne Barge bride’s beachside wedding!

Kristen and Marcos were married in San Clemente, California. The wedding took place at Casa Romantica, a Spanish Colonial Revival home built in 1927 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Now a cultural center, the gorgeous setting of the home has sweeping views overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Kristen wore a strapless gown from the Anne Barge collection designed in a French Alencon lace with an antique toned silk charmeuse lining. The bride’s hair was styled in loose romantic waves and crowned with florals by Twig & Honey.

Colors of orange and turquoise along with woodsy accents were the perfect palette for this oceanfront fete. Wedding planners Going Lovely ensured the day was implemented seamlessly creating a fun and festive mood for wedding guests. Kelly Stonelake Photo captured the couple’s wedding day memories perfectly. We know you will enjoy them too!

Real Wedding – Orange County

As Summer is soon coming to an end, we wanted to share this wedding in particular with you. The wedding of Kirstin and Steve took place in Orange County, California. Kirsten wore a blush colored Anne Barge gown in silk taffeta with pin tuck details and 3/4 length sleeves. The beautiful bride in her cotton candy pink gown is pure beauty! (The bride found her wedding gown at Alta Moda Bridal in Salt Lake City, Utah).

The wedding reception has a magical mood amidst an amusement park setting. The joy and whimsy of their wedding day reminds us of Summer festivals enjoyed as a child. What better way to ensure your wedding guests feel giddy than with memories everyone can relish from their childhood. We know you will feel the same when you view the wonderful images from Burnt Exposure Photography.

Happy Wedding Wednesday! xo

Real Wedding – Texas Hill Country

Our featured wedding of the week comes from Texas Hill Country. The couple, Cori and John, met on a flight to Austin. Wanting to highlight their Texas connection and roots, Cori and John were married amongst rolling green hills and a lake on the bride’s family ranch outside of Austin.

From the pizza buffet with take home boxes for guests, to the fireworks display to kick off the dancing at the reception, the mood that the bride and groom wanted and achieved was one of fun! And family played a big part in the preparations to the wedding. The bride’s mother planned and incorporated family heirlooms into the event. And her father made benches from scratch for seating at the ceremony.

The bride wore Sonata from the Blue Willow Bride collection by Anne Barge. The Sonata gown is a trumpet silhouette of Alencon lace with delicate spaghetti straps. Cori looked absolutely gorgeous! The groom, John, wore a Ben Sherman suit in a charcoal grey with a bright yellow tie and pocket square. The wedding’s color palette of yellow with hints of grey were carried throughout the wedding on the ribbon chair decor to the dessert table display to the billy button boutonniere for the Groom.

We welcome you to enjoy this beautiful wedding. And we wish a heartfelt congratulations to Cori and John! xo

Real Wedding – Mile High Station

It is our favorite day of the week: Wedding Wednesday!

Our real wedding for this week’s feature comes to us from Colorado. Alix and Vince were married in Denver at the Mile High Station. Their February nuptials radiated joy as they said their vows encircled by loved ones. The fun spirits of the couple are plain to see from both the professional photographs and the spontaneous photo booth sessions at the reception.

The bride looked gorgeous and was all smiles in her Anne Barge “Sophie” gown. Designed in a striped silk shantung, the wedding gown has a tailored cummerbund waistline, full skirt, and spaghetti straps. Alix wore her hair in loose waves and was supported by her lovely bridesmaids in little black dresses. So chic. And the flower girls…beyond adorable!

Viewing the photographs of Alix and Vince as they celebrate their special day brought huge grins to our faces. We know it will do the same for you! xo

Real Wedding – Sea Island, Georgia

We love Wedding Wednesdays! This week we are excited to share the real wedding of Megan and Justin. This sweet Southern destination wedding took place at Sea Island in Georgia. The ceremony was at St. William Catholic Church with the reception following at The Cloister Beach Club. Every element of the wedding was elegantly appointed with lots of candlelight, a touch of sparkle, and a plethora of lush peonies (the bride’s favorite flower).

The bride looked radiant in her Anne Barge Couture gown. The wedding dress is style “Chatham” ~ a silk taffeta ball gown with bow back details. The unique gown surprised guests at the reception as the overskirt was removed to reveal a sassy strapless mini dress of French guipure lace. The bride accessorized with glittery Kate Spade shoes for each ensemble.

We know you will enjoy the images of Megan and Justin’s wedding day celebration! xo
