Hello all you Anne Barge brides out there, I have a very big insider secret to share with you today! Are you ready? Do you have a pen and paper? Anne Barge is debuting brand new gowns in just two weeks! The new styles will strut their stuff down the runway, then be sent around the country for brides to see. So, if you love the being on the cutting edge, make your trunk show appointment now! (The first trunk show to have the new collection will be at Kleinfeld on April 15-17.) The new dresses will only be seen on trunk shows, and there is only one sample until the new stores samples can be made and sent. That means, for weeks only one sample of each new dress will be in existence! This is huge! Check out website www.AnneBarge.com/TrunkShows for a date near you, and feel free to contact your local Anne Barge retailer about this as well! As always, Happy Shopping!

These gorgeous shots were taken by Green Apple Photography in Salt Lake City. The gorgeous couple (bride outfitted by Anne Barge at Alta Moda) are Mari and Blake, and we wish them all the best! Thank you so much for these amazing photos!

Mari and Blake’s Winter Wedding

Ah me, I can’t get over how lovely the late afternoon winter light was for Mari and Blake. It might have been cold, but it was perfect! I know I always say this, but I’m so grateful to work with with such wonderful couples and families. Mari and Blake were a dream to work with. Super kind and fun. It was a lovely day and I was the lucky girl to photograph it! I shot a lot of BW at the reception, which I love so much.
Grain is my favorite :)

Congratulations Mari and Blake (one month anniversary yesteday!) Whoohoo! A big thank you to Christine for assisting and Sharon, my awesome friend for referring Mari and Blake.

Spring is in the air, trees are turning green and bulbs are finally starting to bloom. Life is good right now! With all this beauty starting to unfold around us,I was inspired to feature Anne Barge’s 563 as this week’s featured dress. Made of gorgeous light organza, this gown is an airy dream. The form fitting, pleated bodice continues to an asymmetrical seam at the knees/hips and blossoms into a full skirt with chapel train. Flowers literally bloom from the seam simply screaming spring! This gown is great for all body types daring enough to show their curves, and it works in any venue. This gown is best for spring and summer, but the creative can work it into fall and winter. For pricing, locations and details email us at info@AnneBarge.com.

Tons of times brides steer away from lace as they feel it is too traditional and formal, but lace can be one of the most versatile textiles available in the bridal world. It comes in a multitude of patterns, weights, and formality levels. You can wear lace in a  traditional way, but you can also wear it to be romantic, contemporary or (wait for it) sexy! Lace can do it all…just look at all these lace gowns with different personalities!

January Wedding

By: The Avett Brother

She keeps it simple
And I am thankful for her kind of lovin’
‘Cause it’s simple

No longer do we wonder if we’re together
We’re way past that
And I’ve already asked her
So in January we’re gettin’ married

She’s talkin’ to me with her voice
Down so low I barely hear her
But I know what she’s sayin’
I understand because my heart and hers are the same
And in January we’re gettin’ married

And I was sick with heartache
And she was sick like Audrey Hepburn when I met her
But we would both surrender
True love is not the kind of thing you should turn down
Don’t ever turn it down

I hope that I don’t sound to insane when I say
There is darkness all around us
I don’t feel weak but I do need sometimes for her to protect me
And reconnect me to the beauty that I’m missin’
And in January we’re gettin’ married

No longer does it matter what circumstances we were born in
She knows which birds are singin’
And the names of the trees where they’re performin’ in the mornin
And in January we’re gettin’ married
Come January let’s get married

Sung by The Avett Brothers on their Album I And Love And You

Sometimes we listen to music but never hear the words. As I have trouble meditating, I sometimes just sit in the quiet and listen to songs. This is a particularly fantastic album to just sit and listen to. Upon really hearing a song you start to see the poem inside the notes. This one I though was very fitting for our blog, and beautiful to read. Who wouldn’t want their fiancee to say this! Enjoy, and if you have a spare second, but this album and just listen.

As March winds down, April is gearing up. We still have some amazing trunk shows left in March, but we have a whole month of amazing trunk shows ahead. For shoe week I thought I would feature an adorable Anne Barge dress where you can see the shoes. Why? This adorable dress ,Skylar,is one of our short dresses, and perfect for a saucy pair of heels. She comes from our most recent La Fleur Collection, and is all about texture. The rouched lace and tulle bodice leads into a full skirt pieced together from lace, tulle, chiffon, and taffeta. To add even more allure to this gown, we added a beautiful beaded belt. Skylar is a perfect destination gown for anywhere your heart may take you, and its great for all body types and shoe tastes. Skylar is available in stores and on trunk show. For more information, pricing or details email us at info@AnneBarge.com.

Yesterday we mentioned the idea of wearing colorful shoes with your wedding dress to punch things up a notch. Another great bonus of deciding to wear a colorful shoe is that you can make it your something blue. Imagine walking down the aisle and every once in a while you get a sneak of blue from under your hem. Then, swishing around the dance floor your blue shoes moving to the beat as you pick up your dress to really get down! So much practical fun! There are so many shades of blue out there to choose from. Check out these pairings!

This week we are dedicating the blog to the amazing, addicting, fabulous shoe! Next to the dress it is one of the most important and fun purchases a bride makes. First dress..second shoes. To get the week started off right, I thought I would share a huge idea with all of you. While some brides love to wear bright shoes on their wedding day; most brides like to stick to the traditional white or neutral. If you still want to invest in a designer shoe, but worry about wearing it again…have it dyed after the wedding. You can pick out of hundreds of colors and can wear your wedding shoes over and over. Need some ideas? Check out these hot shoes from MyGlassSlipper.com. (www.myglassslipper.com)

Today’s dress comes from a past collection, but has always been one of our favorites. LF161 hails from the La Fleur collection, and it is a super versitile gowns. A great thing about this dress is the a-line natural waist silhouette which makes it so absolutely anyone can wear it and look amazing. Made of silk taffeta, this dress is cool and light with support built on the inside. Pleated bands detail the bodice and waistline, and tucked inside the a-line skirt are brilliant pockets! To polish off the gown, a chapel train sweeps behind you. This gown is great for anytime of year, and can be dressed up or down depending on formality. This dress can be found in Anne Barge retail stores and on trunk shows. For more information, pricing and locations email us at info@AnneBarge.com.
