Karen Fulmer Lindner, a jewelry designer, sent us this photo from Cincinnati Magazine’s Winter 2011 Wedding issue. It features our style LF161 with some of her amazing jewelry. We love how this dress can go from traditional to rock and rock with the right accents! Thanks Karen for sending us this amazing photo, and for amazing jewelry!

Lauren purchased her dress with Anne Barge’s help at our trunk show in NewYork almost a year ago. She looked amazing in her La Fleur gown, and we love the style of this bridal portrait. She will always be in our hearts and minds as our bride!
Wedding Date: January 9, 2010

Since New Year’s Eve is at the end of this week, I have begun to plan my outfit for the big night. I know I want short, I know I want fun, and I know I want an Anne Barge. That sounds virtually impossible right…Anne makes bridal gowns. Don’t count it out that easy! Since Anne Barge offers customization on all her gowns I can get any one I want in any color I want. Its so simple! Here are a couple of my favorites and what I would do to make them party ready! What changes would you make for a perfect party look?
LF160 in red and cut short…
How about doing this short number in pale pink?
LF132 would look great in black or plum…
Finally, cute this baby short and make it black with white flower! Very Doris Day in “Please don’t eat the Daisys”!
As we wrap up our gifts that give back week, its time to enjoy the after wedding. Take this little piece of joy with you on your honeymoon, run a hot bath, and soak away the wedding stress and relax into wedded bliss. Philospohy’s “she colors my day” bubble bath will mosturize your skin and leave you smelling yummy. Why not give one to your Mom and Mother-in-law to help them unwind too? After all, this bubble bath supports The Women’s Cancer Research fund.
To continue our gifts that give back week, I have found the perfect accessory for our rocker bride (or they make good groomsmen presents.) They are guitar string bracelets that come from rock idols guitars. 100% of the proceeds from these bracelets go to a plethora of charities chosen by the rocker! You can find bracelets from Brian Adams, Dolly Pardon, Eric Clapton, Lenny Kravitz, Jack Johnson, Joan Jett, John Mayer, Keith Richards, Lisa Loeb, and the list goes on and on! Some of the charities who benefit from the bracelets are The Michael J Fox Foundation, The Nature Conservatory, The Smile Train, Art Docs and more! They would look great with tons of Anne Barge gowns, and you can head bang in style on the dance floor!
To purchase your bracelet visit…
The Ring Bearer magazine named Anne Barge’s “Devereax” as one of their top ten gowns this market season. We are thrilled. Thank you so much Ring Bearer…you are our top ten too!
Guest love to leave with a little something to remember your big day by. Why not make that gift something they can have fun with over and over while helping someone? Kiva is an organization that gives micro-loans. For a meager $125 US Dollars someone is Tanzania can open a cafe to support their family forever. You don’t have to give the whole amount either; people band together as a group to make up the $125. You can choose whom you wish to loan the money too, and what business you want to support. The loan is paid back with interest, and you can get the money back, or loan on to someone else. Scrolling through the entrepreneurs and reading their business ideas is so much fun, and more fun happens after you choose one and watch their business grow. Slip small gift cards into “green” envelopes and listen as your guest talk about their stories for months to come! After all, what is the old saying…”give a man a fish and feed him for a day. teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime.”
As my holiday spirit grows and grows…I continue our gifts that give back blog week. You have all read about my love of tea before in this blog, and in my humble opinion nothing is more soothing than a hot, steaming cup of tea. Brides need all the calm and comfort they can get on their wedding day so why not brew a cup for yourself. Better yet, why not buy all your bridesmaids tea of their own to sip. This adorable and delicious Tea Forte tea chest gives it’s proceeds to St. Jude’s Hospital. It has twenty different variety of teas and forty tea bags all in a re-useable green chest. On your wedding day (wearing this gorgeous Anne Barge number wink wink) calm your nerves with tea and the knowledge that you are helping heal children!
A huge part of Christmas is spreading joy to all, and giving more than you recieve. A great company who gives as it recieves is Tom’s shoes. To quote their movement known as “One For One”, “In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers.” If you like their idea, check out their website. You will even find a new movement happening…people getting married in Toms. Brides, grooms, bridesmaids, groomsmen and even kids are wearing them in the wedding. Our idea…wear them with an Anne Barge gown and give a pair to your girls! Good karma is a great way to start a new life with your hubby!
Be sure to check out “Bailey” featured in DWeddings magazine! The magazine hits newsstands next week, but if you can’t wait its online now! We love the theme of this shoot, and we love how amazing they made “Bailey” look.
